Russia, Vast and Snowy

The idea is to join a group of drinkers in an online lounge, where the USB shot glass levels are shown on each person’s screen; once the go-ahead is given, the folks turn up their glasses and chug it down, ideally showing an empty glass after a random smashing of keys somehow spells out congratulatory phrases.

On the surface, this certainly does seem pathetic. Then again, I’m not serving out my term of enlistment as a radar technician in Arkhangelsk.

Perhaps those energetic boulevardiers whom I see working miniature computers with their thumbs will find this new service to be of the greatest assistance. I prefer to rely on my leather-bound diary–and my memory.
